SwartAd was tasked with branding Century Books, an intimate bookshop with an old world atmosphere (and one of our favorite places in Pasadena). Informed by our brand audit, Willem Swart’s logo concept utilizes the abbreviation for the word century in a hand-tooled letter form. This mark is contrasted against a sans-serif font (originally designed for a British bookstore) that spells out the name of the shop. We then created on-screen ads which were projected at the Laemmle Theatre to direct patrons to the bookstore. A redesign of the Facebook page and collateral extended the brand refresh.
